Mr Michael Okoko Ogiji, the second substantive Registrar of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), is a seasoned university administrator with decades of professional experience.
Born on the 10 September 1966 into the family of Mr Ogiji Okoko, he began his educational journey at St Bernard’s Primary School, Ugwu Okpoga, in 1973. He later attended the Government College, Otukpa (GCO) in 1979. He holds a Diploma in Accounting, a National Diploma in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Political Science, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration, both degrees earned from the prestigious University of Jos.
Mr Ogiji commenced his professional career as a Clerical Assistant at the University of Jos on 20 May 1987. Over the years, through dedication and hard work, he rose steadily through the ranks until he transferred his services to FUHSO, where he was appointed Principal Assistant Registrar. On 28 November 2024, he was elevated to the position of Acting Registrar. Following a highly competitive process, he was confirmed and appointed as the second substantive Registrar of FUHSO by the Governing Council on 12 May 2025.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators (FCAI). In addition, he has participated in numerous professional training and development programmes, further strengthening his expertise in administration and policy management. Beyond his administrative career, Mr Ogiji has been a committed clergyman, serving as a Pastor with the Deeper Life Bible Church since 1987. He is happily married and blessed with four children: two sons and two daughters. Known for his humility, integrity, and unwavering dedication to service, he brings to FUHSO a blend of professional competence, moral strength, and spiritual guidance.
