FUHSO SCREENING UPDATE
The Screening Exercise for potential students who applied for admission into the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Nigeria, for the 2021/2022 Academic Session has commenced.
As at the time of this report, prospective students are being screened and checked into the University’s Temporary Campus, Otada, Otukpo LGA of Benue state for the real business of the day.
The Screening Exercise which commenced on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, would last till Wednesday, 7th September, 2022.
FUHSO is the first specialized medical University to be established by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The institution is poised to churning out quality man-power that would fill the deficit in the healthcare sector in Nigeria.
The vision of the FUHSO is to be “a world class institution for learning, scientific research and innovation for developing the next generation of healthcare providers”. It shall therefore, engage in cutting-edge research towards the development of the health sector in Nigeria in particular, and the world at large.
The Mission is “to build capacity of healthcare professionals through integrated medical education, professional skills and research towards access to high quality healthcare services” the end product would be the provision of excellent healthcare for the people with the ultimate aim of providing mentally sound and physically strong individuals that would lead to an improved productive capacity of mankind.
In its Philosophy, FUHSO is poised to nurture excellent training of healthcare professionals through innovative, cutting-edge research and development, and ensuring the emergence of highly sought-after healthcare professionals. The philosophy imbibes a pedagogy of pragmatic teaching, learning and research experiences capable of fusing theory and practice. Added to these, is uncompromising moral ethical standards that are sure to distinguish FUHSO graduates.
The Core Values that will guide the process is called ‘IT-DAPIE’ which connotes - Integrity, Transparency, Dedication, Accountability, Partnership, Innovation and Equity. These core values will be used as our culture and guiding rules for both staff and students of our amiable University.
