FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, OTUKPO (FUHSO) P.M.B 145 OTUKPO BENUE STATE (OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR) PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT SALES OF FORMS FOR REMEDIAL SCIENCES 2024/2025 PROGRAMME The Mission of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo is to "build capacity of healthcare professionals through integrated medical education, professional skills and research providing access to high quality healthcare services". The Federal Government of Nigeria established the University with a mission "to train medical and other health Professionals who shall make indelible difference in society through establishing a reputation of excellence in teaching, research and healthcare services for the development of the nation and mankind skewed towards medicine and allied health programmes to provide excellent healthcare for the people with a view to providing a mentally sound and physically strong society that would improve the productivity of mankind". ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SCHOOL OF REMEDIAL SCIENCES The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, in its mandate to build capacity of healthcare professionals through integrated medical education and professional skills, has established School of Remedial Sciences to raise professionals from the foundation. The first set of the students of the School of Remedial Sciences completed their session on 15th June,2024 with remarkable success during the 2023/2024 JAMB UTME. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Remedial Science Programme of the University for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. The candidates must possess at least, a minimum of 3 'O' LEVEL Credits in WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE results or its equivalent in the following Subject: Mathematics or Further Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and either Biology or Agric Science or Geography to be eligible for admission.  The Remedial Programme is strictly for Science Students who want to study Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Medical Physics, and other Science disciplines. In addition to remedying deficiencies, the 2024/2025 FUHSO Remedial Sciences program will: i. Conduct JAMB/UMTE clinic to enable Candidates be well prepared through intensive teaching/coaching from Monday to Friday for 2024/2025 JAMB/UTME examination. ii. Prepare Candidates through Nine (9) Months intensive programme of Teaching and Laboratory exercise in the subjects to be better fit for the relevant 100 Level Degree programme in FUHSO. Placement into the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo Degree programmes will be automatic for those who participate in the FUHSO Remedial Sciences programme, provided the Candidate successfully complete the programme and: a. obtains a minimum of 50% in each subject taken with proven 75% attendance during teaching and laboratory periods; b. Choose the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo as first choice in JAMB/UTME; c. Obtained the University's cut-off mark for the course of choice (which may be reviewed every academic year) The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo wishes you a wise choice of the University's Remedial Programme.
